tuna pasta recipe

I could not resist the temptation when I saw tuna pasta recipe on the breakfast table early Sunday morning :) almost half the serving was over by the time I thanked Sarita. what better to start Sunday with 😀 the tuna pasta recipe had capsicum and corn, which together with other spices, made the recipe juicy and delicious.

canned tuna was used in the preparation of this recipe. it took around 30 mins but the process is simple and easy. tuna pasta recipe can be had at any time, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner (also any time in between 😉 )

tuna pasta recipe

Ingredients

  • tuna chunks - 200 gms
  • pasta - 100 gms
  • red capsicum - 1 big (cut in julienne)
  • corn kernels - 1 cup
  • onion - 1 medium (finely chopped)
  • coriander - 1 bunch / 3 tbsp
  • red / green chili - 2 medium (cut in julienne)
  • olive oil - 2 tbsp
  • black pepper - 2 tsp
  • lemon juice - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. boil water in a pan.
  2. add pasta, 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder. leave it for 5 mins. (do not cover)
  3. (if you are using durum wheat pasta, it might take longer time to cook. check before straining the pasta)
  4. strain the pasta and keep it aside.
  5. while the pasta is cooking, place another pan on medium flame. once hot, add 2 tbsp olive oil. after a min, add finely chopped onions, chili and corn kernels. saute for a min.
  6. add the tuna chunks, 2 tsp salt, 1 tbsp lemon juice and 2 tsp crushed black pepper. cook for 5 mins. saute intermittently.
  7. add chopped capsicum and saute for 2 mins.
  8. add boiled pasta and chopped coriander leaves. saute for 1 min.
  9. serve the tuna pasta hot.
