onion paratha
Ingredients
- whole wheat flour - 2 cup
- fine semolina flour - 4 tbsp.
- curd - 4 tbsp.
- onion - 1 medium (finely chopped)
- green coriander leaves - 6 tbsp (chopped)
- hing (asafoetida) - 1/2 tsp
- coriander powder - 1 tbsp.
- turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - for making paratha
- green chili - 1 big (finely chopped)
- salt - 1 tsp
Instructions
- rinse and finely chop all the vegetables (onion, green coriander leaves, green chili) and mix with curd in a bowl.
- mix coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder, hing, wheat flour, semolina flour in a separate bowl.
- now add the cut vegetable mix with the flour-masala mix well by using your fingers and keep aside for 5 mins.
- start making a dough (sprinkle some water if needed) . in case the dough gets hard add a tbsp of olive oil or if dough gets sticky then add a tbsp (or more if needed) of wheat flour and knead again.
- cover the dough for 5 mins by using a lid.
- make medium size balls from the onion paratha dough.
- dust some flour on onion paratha dough balls and start rolling round rotis by using belan.
- Place the onion paratha on a hot flat pan and leave it for 1 min then turn it on the other side. After 1 min sprinkle oil on both sides.
- Flip and cook paratha for 2 more mins till it becomes brown in color. Make sure that the paratha cooked well.
- Pull out small chucks of onion paratha and relish with chutney/chili sauce/tomato sauce.
- more importantly do not forget to share with friends and happy eating.







Notes
if you do not like chili just skip it or you can add more as you like. you can also cover the flat pan to speed up the cooking.
